Time to Build and Time to Move
Time to Build (# 1!) With 38 children attending Sunday School in 1953, increased accommodation was needed in the kindergarten department. Rev. W. Stelling succeeded to the pastorate in September 1954. By 1955 the church had been extended, the church and new kindergarten painted, new concrete paths laid and trees planted along the Manchester Road boundary, a wonderful accomplishment for a congregation numbering about 20.
Time to Move The Manchester Road site had no car parking space, and the congregation was continuing to grow. So, in 1959, with a membership of 67, the church purchased four blocks of land in Hull Road for $9,000 and a new brick veneer house adjoining the site was purchased for a Manse. The church building was shifted in 1960 and installed in East Court. Rev. Geoff Malins became the first full-time pastor. In 1962 a new hall was built, and in 1964 the All Age Sunday School began, quickly becoming a vibrant, vital part of the outreach of MBC. The attendance of the Sunday School grew to over 300 members
